mis ADVENTURES IN BARTENDING

Testing the Sweet Orange infused George Dickel was a lot of fun, and many thanks to all of my friends and customers who were willing to sit through the good, the bad, and the ugly drinks!

I made enough to barely go around, without much leftovers to speak of.

The recipe I submitted to the USBG was this:

The Cascade Hollow Peach Sour

1.5 oz. of Sweet Orange infused George Dickel #8

.25 oz. Re'al Peach Puree

3/4 oz. Lemon Juice

3/4 oz. Simple syrup

Dash Cayenne Powder (optional, but adds a nice bite)

Splash of Soda

2-3 drops of Orange Bitters

Combine all but soda and Bitters over ice, shake and strain over fresh ice.

Combine the soda and bitters in a shaker and shake until foamy, top the drink with the bitters foam and garnish with a Sweet Orange rind.

I also came up with a

Hot Toddy Recipe:

1.5 oz. of Sweet Orange infused George Dickel #8

.25 oz. Re'al Ginger Puree

.5 oz. Lemon Juice

.5 oz. Local Honey

Dash of Cayenne Powder

2 oz. Double strength Black tea

To be served Hot and undiluted

And there was the Underdog of the recipes

The Peach Lavender Lemonade:

1.5 oz. of Sweet Orange infused George Dickel #8

.25 oz. Re'al Peach Puree

.25 oz Lavender simple syrup

.25 oz Lemon Juice

Top with soda

Combine all ingredients in a shaker and shake, strain over fresh ice top with soda and garnish with a Lemon wheel or Fresh Lavender sprig if you have it on hand.

Cheers!
